Chronic Organizational Problems

Renowned author and management expert Steven Covey has identified common problems that, if unrecognized or unchecked, will ultimately lead to the demise of an organization. Some of you may feel that Covey practices "guru-speak", but please read his words carefully and join AIDA in applying them to dentistry:

SEVEN CHRONIC ORGANIZATIONAL PROBLEMS

1) Vision and Principles Not Shared.

2) Shared Vision Not Aligned with Outside World - No Strategic Path.

3) Structure and Systems not Aligned with Shared Vision and Principles.

4) Style is Incongruent with Shared Vision and Principles.

5) Skills Do Not Match Empowerment Given.

6) Low Trust - Overdrawn Emotional Bank Account.

7) Values and Habits Not Congruent - Lack of Integrity; Don’t "Walk the Talk".
