AIDA's Strategic
Benefactors
Becoming a Strategic Benefactor of AIDA is an expression of support and alliance from the service organizations and industries who benefit most from continued freedom of choice and quality improvement in dentistry. Strategic Benefactors contribute funds which AIDA has earmarked for high profile uses, such as educating the public about their rights as patients, how dental implants are now the most conservative choice to replace a single missing tooth, and how many advances have been made in periodontal regeneration techniques. Armed with knowledge, the general public will fight for quality- left ignorant they will shop for price. In accordance with AIDA's Core Values, all financial interactions will be fully disclosed in this forum. Such interactions are in the form of cross-linking web sites, banner advertisement on this web site, including promotional brochures and materials at seminars and lectures, promotional discussions at seminars and lectures, notices in newsletters and publications, and other means of educating dentists as to who is active in improving quality and maintaining choice in dentistry. AIDA's membership will show, with their financial votes, their appreciation for industries who have decided to promote a Greater Good.
The history of dental industries has been to promote their products and services to dentists, and have the dentists promote the products and services to their patients. The flaw in this thought is that, by investing promotional dollars into External Patient Education, real marketers and advertisers (not the dentist behind the mask) can reach the true consumers, create value in a more familiar media forum, and reach the entire prospective market, not just the market specified by a particular dentist. Any cruise through a popular magazine will show that the pharmaceutical houses have already corrected this flaw in their marketing plans.
Endorsement, the use of a company's name and reputation for a cause or philosophy, is and should be a sacred trust. Many companies have never made such an endorsement in the past. AIDA hopes that, in this era of externally driven cataclysmic change in health care, that the industries and service organizations of dentistry will look to their own values and decide that the Mission and Vision of AIDA are worth stepping forward for. Through becoming a Strategic Benefactor for AIDA, industries can invest in and shape the future of fee-for-service dentistry and the goods and services that are best represented by that practice modality.
Should your company choose not to become a Strategic Benefactor for AIDA, communication as to the perceived barriers would be greatly appreciated. AIDA is a learning organization.
